ESC: Gabriele Corsi and Mara Maionchi confirmed as hosts on Rai

The 2024 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will have a feminine touch. Following Azerbaijan’s announcement, the lineup is now complete. Representing 37 nations, there will be 27 solo singers (18 women, 9 men), seven duets (3 male, 1 female, 3 mixed), and three groups (2 mixed, 1 male).

As usual, the most commonly used language in the songs is English. In addition to the representatives from English-speaking countries (United Kingdom, Ireland, and Malta), another nineteen contestants will sing exclusively in English, while four will combine their native language with English. Azerbaijan will sing part of their song in Azerbaijani after fifteen English songs, and for the first time in Eurovision history, the Australian entry will include some words in Yankuntatjara, one of the languages spoken by native Australians. The Spanish duo Megara will perform for San Marino in Italian, Spanish, and English.

Italy will be represented by Angelina Mango, who will bring a slightly modified version of “La noia,” the winning song of the last Sanremo Festival, to the Malmö Arena.

For the fourth consecutive year, Gabriele Corsi and Mara Maionchi will host the Italian edition of Eurovision. Maionchi is expected to repeat the success of her debut in Liverpool 2023. The Italian shows will be broadcasted on May 7th and 9th on Rai 2, while the final on May 11th will air on Rai 1. Rai Radio 2 and Channel 202 of Digital Terrestrial Television will provide simultaneous commentary for all three evenings.
