Godzilla and Kong Join Forces to Create an Epic Cinematic Monsterverse
The iconic scene is already here, at least for us Italians, and it’s the one that shows Godzilla crouched inside the Colosseum taking a nap. But that’s not all for poor Rome’s historic center, which will be partially destroyed by the monster’s casual stroll. In Godzilla vs. Kong – The New Empire, in theaters from March 28th with Warner Bros Pictures, the Legendary Pictures Monsterverse continues with this brand-new adventure that sees the all-powerful Kong and the fearsome Godzilla fighting side by side against a colossal threat hiding in our world.
But that’s not all. In this latest installment of the saga, the stories and origins of these two titans are further explored, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island, revealing, among other things, what lies behind the mythical battle that helped shape these extraordinary beings and bind them to humanity.
In the third film of the Monsterverse saga with Kong, preceded by Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), we will also discover the fascination of the hollow earth where a mysterious people live, building enormous pyramids because they know the laws to reverse gravity. We will also witness the new look of Godzilla, complete with purple and pink scales and spines, as well as Kong’s gray beard and hair. Finally, Godzilla’s thunderous atomic roar has also changed color: from blue to reddish, symbolizing an increase in power.
The 41-year-old Adam Wingard returns to direct the film, starring Rebecca Hall (Godzilla vs. Kong, The Night House), Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen.
The first reactions to this monster blockbuster seem to be overwhelmingly positive. Some describe it as an “atomic explosion,” others as a “fantastically strange and psychedelic journey through the Shōwa era.” And finally, some find the strengths of Godzilla vs. Kong – The New Empire to be the “tons of wild kaiju action and the many vibrant colors.”
In conclusion, it seems that this latest addition to the Monsterverse franchise will not disappoint fans. The combination of Godzilla and Kong, two iconic creatures with their own rich histories, promises an epic battle against a formidable enemy, all set against the backdrop of stunning visual effects and a captivating storyline. So mark your calendars and get ready to witness the clash of the titans on the big screen.
